Fine Motor Skill Development for Young Beginners Develops Strength / Dexterity / Coordination / Limberness / Finger Independence
Produced in 2014, this video consists of 10 aerobic style finger/hand dances featuring classic children’s music, including Mary Had a Little Lamb, This Old Man, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, and Pop Goes the Weasel. As an added bonus, there are six original musical arrangements by Composer/Performer/Educator Julien Nodier.
The dances are all preformed using different colorful gloves which make them exciting and fun to watch. The pace of the dance routines are slow enough for most beginners to follow.
The video is progressively challenging as it is presented in four progressively challenging versions which are ideal for learning Finger Fitness.
1. Written and Vocal instructions - start with both written and vocal instructions
2. Written instruction only - Try the written instructions only version after you become familiar with the dances using verbal and written instructions
3. Verbal Instruction only - Try the verbal instructions only version after you become familiar with the dances using verbal and written instructions
4. Music Only - Performance Mode - The goal is to learn and further develop the four basic natural movements and isolation techniques of the program (bend, fold, tap, and push). It is a great way to warm-up for music, typing, physical education and other hand-intensive activities. Once the student is familiar with the various Finger Fitness exercises, they can do it with any music style they like, just so it has a rhythmic beat.
